Final Semester Blog

Hello!

This week will be the last week of the semester for you to write a blog response. Blogs will start up again after next semester begins.

For your writing this week, please first read all of the blog entries from two weeks ago. Each of these blogs covered an explanation of and a proposed solution to a current problem. After reading the blogs, please choose one and write a three-paragraph response to it. Do you agree? disagree? Do you have anything to add or correct? Think about he points made by the writer and address those in your response.

At the beginning of your entry, please include a 3-4 sentence explanation of the post to which you are responding. Remember that grammar and mechanics count, so please write accordingly.

This post is due by Friday, January, 20th at 6:00 p.m.

First blog of the New Year!

I appreciate all of you that spent time looking at other blogs. There are several places on the internet where you can find blogs. Several television shows even have blogs as part of their online packaging. It sounds as though a few of you had problems finding an interesting blog, but most of you found something interesting to write about.

This week I would like you to think about a current event which is finding its way into the news. It could be anything ranging from politics to religion to health care to education. The only requirement is that the public perceives a problem to be solved. Please write a one paragraph explanation of the "problem" as you see it and then a two paragraph explanation of your solution to the problem.

If you read an outside source to help you understand the problem, please be sure to cite your source.

Remember that these blog responses need to be grammatically correct. Do not use i-language in any sense of the word. You may use "to be" verbs, but do not use slang.

This blog is due by Saturday, January 7th at 5:00 p.m. There are ample opportunities at school to complete this blog is you do not have internet access.

Have fun! I look forward to reading your opinions on current events.
